Ludovico Maria Enrico Einaudi OMRI, born on November 23, 1955, is an esteemed Italian pianist and composer. He received his musical education at the Conservatorio Verdi in Milan and initially pursued a path in classical music before branching out to include pop, rock, folk, and world music in his compositions.
Einaudi's talents extend to composing scores for numerous film and television projects, such as "This Is England," "The Intouchables," "I'm Still Here," the TV miniseries "Doctor Zhivago," and "Acquario" (1996), for which he received the Grolla d'oro award. His compositions also feature in the critically acclaimed films "Nomadland" and "The Father," both of which have won Golden Globe and Academy Awards.
Over the years, Einaudi has released several solo albums that showcase his prowess on the piano and other instruments, with notable works including "I Giorni" (2001), "Nightbook" (2009), and "In a Time Lapse" (2013). In 2019, he embarked on an ambitious seven-part series called "Seven Days Walking," which was released monthly over seven months.
In recognition of his contributions to music, Einaudi was named an Officer of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic in 2005.
