      Andrea Bocelli Background

Andrea Bocelli was born in Tuscany, Italy in 1958. As a child, he had partial blindness until he was completely blind after a sports accident. But that didn’t stop him. In fact, he pushed harder and learned to play several instruments, including the piano and drums. He also loved to sing as a child and wrote his first song at the age of 18. When Bocelli was in college, he would perform in piano bars to make a little extra cash.

When an Italian artist held auditions for singers to make a demo of his song, Bocelli took the chance and was successful. His tape landed him a spot with the artist in the recording studio, and he actually went with him on his European tour. From then on, Bocelli’s popularity continued to rise.
