Oliver Stanley Murs, born on May 14, 1984, is a renowned English singer, songwriter, and TV personality. He first gained widespread recognition as the runner-up on the sixth series of *The X Factor* in 2009. Following his success on the show, Murs secured a record deal with RCA Records and Sony Music in the UK, as well as Columbia Records in the US.
In 2010, Murs released his debut self-titled album, which quickly climbed to number two on the UK Albums Chart and was awarded double platinum status by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI). This album featured popular singles such as *Please Don’t Let Me Go* and *Thinking of Me*. His sophomore album, *In Case You Didn’t Know* (2011), topped the UK Albums Chart and delivered two UK number-one hits: *Heart Skips a Beat* and *Dance with Me Tonight*. Murs followed up with his third album, *Right Place Right Time* (2012), which spawned six singles, including *Troublemaker*, his fourth UK chart-topper.
In 2014, Murs released the hit single *Wrapped Up*, featuring Travie McCoy of Gym Class Heroes, which peaked at number three on the UK Singles Chart. This track was part of his fourth album, *Never Been Better* (2014), which debuted at number one in the UK. A second successful single from this album, *Up*, featured American singer Demi Lovato. His fifth album, *24 Hrs* (2016), included the lead single *You Don’t Know Love*, followed by his sixth album *You Know I Know* (2018). In 2022, after parting ways with RCA Records, Murs released his seventh album, *Marry Me*, under EMI Records.
Aside from his music career, Murs made his return to *The X Factor* in 2011 to co-host *The Xtra Factor* with Caroline Flack. In 2015, he reunited with Flack to co-host *The X Factor* for its 12th series. From 2018 to 2023, Murs took on the role of a coach on *The Voice UK*, and from 2022 to 2023, he also hosted the talent show *Starstruck*.
